Water Project Update

Water System Improvements: Ongoing Work in the Village of Capac

As many of you have noticed, there has been a lot of activity in the Village lately. Excavation crews are actively working throughout the area, while water contractors are busy connecting the new well at our water treatment plant.

This Week's Progress:

We’re excited to announce that this week we will be wrapping up the installation of approximately 20 new insertion valves throughout the Capac water system. WaterTap INC. has been doing an excellent job on this portion of the project, and we’d like to acknowledge the efforts of our general contractor, Superior Excavating INC. Their team has been staying ahead of the installation crew, digging the water mains and prepping the valve installation sites.

We’re fortunate to work with some of the best contractors in the State of Michigan with decades of experience—helping us make these critical upgrades to our water system.

What’s Next:

Looking ahead, next week, Superior Excavating INC. will begin installing cut-in valves and line stops. While this process is a more cost-effective method for valve installation, it may cause temporary water disturbances in the immediate areas of construction. We will do our best to provide advance notice as this work is underway.

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue these critical improvements to our infrastructure. We will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
