Downtown Development Authority Informational Meeting Notice
The Village of Capac Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will host an informational meeting on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, located at 115 N. Main Street, Capac, MI 48014. The meeting will provide updates on the DDA’s current tax increment finance (TIF) plan and discuss ongoing activities, with information available for the DDA Board, local taxing jurisdictions, and the general public.
Cranberry Christmas
Join us for Cranberry Christmas on Saturday, December 7th, filled with fun activities for all ages! Enjoy Christmas craft shows, glitter tattoos, cookie decorating, cider with the Grinch, s'mores, and more from 1 PM to 4:30 PM. Then, watch the parade at 5:30 PM, followed by a festive Tree Lighting ceremony at Melody Park with hot cocoa and the Capac Choir.

Halloween in Capac - 2024 Festivities
Village Trick-or-Treating hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on October 31st. Join us for the Halloween Spooktacular Party for children, hosted by the Capac Youth Baseball League and the Lions Club, at Melody Park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy games, fun activities, and festive treats before you hit the streets for trick-or-treating!
Invitation for Bids: ADA-Compliant Restroom Installation
The Village of Capac is seeking bids for the installation of an ADA-compliant restroom at 206 N. Main Street, Capac, MI 48014. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope by 4:00 P.M. on November 1, 2024. Contact Travis Youatt at manager@villageofcapac.com for specifications.
Notice of Planning Commission Public Hearing
The Village of Capac Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, 11/6/24 at 7:00 P.M. at the Capac American Legion Hall to discuss a proposed amendment to Chapter 30 – Zoning regarding the “Keeping of Chickens” in certain residential districts. Bid Request: Park Street Improvements
The Village of Capac is seeking bids for the construction of improvements on Park Street. Bids will be accepted until 10:00 a.m. local time on July 12, 2024, at the Village Hall. The project includes tasks such as HMA surface removal, fine grading, 1500 tons of HMA paving, installation of concrete curb ramps, and other related work.
Update: Water System Upgrade
The Village of Capac received a grant up to $6,055,000 from a highly competitive grant process. These grant funds will improve and repair our current water system and will impact the community for decades to come. This project will improve water quality, distribution and new technology for operation of the system.
Village Seeking Proposals for Vacant Property
The Village is seeking proposals for the vacant property at 108 N. Lester Street. Interested parties must include a viable development plan compliant with current zoning for the property. Click for more information.
$1.5 Million Main Street Grant Awarded
The Village of Capac received a congressional earmark and has been awarded 1.5 million dollars that was passed by the U.S. House & Senate and signed by President Biden. The funds are for the reconstruction of streetscape in downtown Capac with plans to begin in Spring of 2025
West Park Street Resurfacing
The Village of Capac applied for and received an MDOT Category B grant in the amount of $100,000 to resurface West Park Street. The Village will continue to look for funding sources to improve our streets.
Lions Park New Playscape : Project Update
The current playground equipment at Lions Park is in despair and will need to be replaced. The Capac Village Council voted to purchase the new playscape at the May Council meeting using ARPA funds received from St. Clair County in the amount of $86,544.76.

As the weather warms and grass and weeds begin to grow, please remember to keep it cut below 8 inches. Click read more for the details.
Yard Waste Pickup Notice
The DPW will pick up yard waste and brush on Tuesdays. However, residents must contain yard waste in waste bags. Brush piles should be stacked neatly so that branches are not entangled and the brush is contained in 6'X6' area. Click read more for more info.
Water Bills
Water bills are sent quarterly. Payments are due on the 16th of March, June, September and December. If the 16th falls on a weekend or holiday, payments are due on the following business day.
Payments can be made at the Village Office, by mail or online.
