Lions Park New Playscape : Project Update

The current playground equipment at Lions Park is in despair and will need to be replaced. The Capac Village Council voted to purchase the new playscape (Buffalo Creek) at the May Council meeting using ARPA funds received from St. Clair County in the amount of $86,544.76.

The Village will remove the existing playscape and relocate the new buffalo creek playscape in a more suitable location in Lions Park.  It will take 10-14 weeks until we receive the equipment, and it will be installed once it is received.

“This project will drastically improve our park system and will focus on our future generations in Capac for years to come” - Travis Youatt, Village Manager.

About the New Playscape

“Buffalo Creek is one of our biggest and best play systems, featuring an extensive mix of all of the best play systems we have to offer. Due to its enormous size it can entertain huge crowds of kids at once, boasting a capacity of over 100 children.

It has a square gauntlet of four overhead climbers, which let children climb around and around until they get tired or move on to the next activity. Next to this, there is a triple section of Craggy Climber pieces, complete with a built-in Craggy Hoop Climber and Straight Slide. Kids can climb sideways across this realistic rock wall to reach the tall deck platform, which is loaded up with slides and other activities.

It has a trio of 6-foot slides, all placed adjacent to each other to make them perfect racing grounds. There is also a large Spiral Slide for kids who prefer a slower, more twisted ride. With so many components and features, it is easy to see why Buffalo Creek is the ultimate structure for playground fun.” – Willygoat.com
